If you are new to Green Tea – or looking for something a little different, then this divine Green Oolong is for you. It has silky smooth taste – light and fragrant with hints of freshly cut fruit and sunny sweet flavours. A kick of oxidation brings out floral characteristics, a rich, buttery body that lingers on your palate, and a rounded, airy quality more complex than your typical green. This Himalayan Green Oolong has a marvelous complexity, one that develops and evolves in your cup as you continue to resteep it over and again. In fact this tea can be resteeped up to ten times ! (Just don’t let the leaves stew on any steep!) The final steep may feel like it’s from a totally different tea!

Who can drink Green Tea?

Green Oolong is suitable for any green tea lover, and being loose leaf and whole, is not tainted by a tea bag. It provides a refreshing pick me up, morning, afternoon and night. Green Pearl is naturally low in caffeine and the ‘pick me up’ properties are due to the health giving compounds in the tea. The tea leaves you feeling detoxed and cleansed. This Green Oolong is packed full of health benefits, due to its powerful antioxidants, which help absorb free radicals in the body and protect it from cellular damage. This makes it perfect for health conscious people, athletes, students and people interested in weight loss.

Orthodox Tea

Green Oolong is taken without milk, as its light taste is lost with the addition of milk. Whole leaf teas are known as Orthodox Teas – crafted using the traditional process of making tea, either by hand processing or rolling machinery that mimics hand rolling. The small, young tender leaves are plucked from the tips of the tea bush. This is in contrast to CTC Teas, which are made through the Crush, Tear, and Curl method which produces a cheaper granular leaf particle.

For Oolong lean-tasting water is a given, and for the most part oolongs thrive with just-off boiling water. Oolong teas are best savored in a series of small infusions to appreciate their evolving character in your cup, which means five grams of tea per hundred milliliters is usually a good guide. Steep for longer or shorter depending on what you like that day! Enjoy with friends, resteeping over and over as you chat and relax.

Himalayan Green Oolong can be re-steeped many times, and will steep overnight for a refreshing morning cool tea (but only di this on the last of the last steeps!)
